Mobile, convenient and disposable V.A.C.® Therapy System

The V.A.C.VIA™ Therapy System is a disposable NPWT System that allows clinicians easy access to V.A.C.® Therapy for low exudating (<80mL/day) wounds, small- to medium-sized wounds (up to 250cm3), split-thickness skin grafts and immediate discharges from the acute care setting.

The V.A.C.VIA™ Therapy System:

  • Allows for convenient access to off-the-shelf V.A.C.® Therapy kits
  • Removes exudate and infectious materials
  • Can be transitioned with patient to an outpatient setting for use in multiple care settings
  • Facilitates quick and easy application with intuitive dressings and a simplified user interface
  • Delivers continuous negative pressure (-125mmHg or -75mmHg) and Dynamic Pressure Control™ Therapy through the same mechanisms of action of other V.A.C.® Therapy Systems
  • Pulls the edges of the wound bed together using the unique V.A.C.VIA™ GRANUFOAM™ Dressing
  • Maintains a moist wound environment that promotes perfusion and granulation tissue formation
  • Acts as a closed system, providing a barrier to external infectious sources

How V.A.C.® Therapy creates an environment that promotes wound healing

Under negative pressure, V.A.C.® Therapy with proprietary V.A.C.® GRANUFOAM™ Dressings applies mechanical forces to the wound to create an environment that promotes wound healing. These forces are known as macrostrain and microstrain.1

Macrostrain is the visible stretch that occurs when negative pressure contracts the foam.

  • Draws wound edges together
  • Provides direct and complete wound bed contact
  • Evenly distributes negative pressure
  • Removes exudate and infectious materials

Microstrain is the microdeformation at the cellular level, which leads to cell stretch:

  • Reduces edema
  • Promotes perfusion
  • Promotes granulation tissue formation by facilitating cell migration and proliferation
